Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India is committed to improve the Quality of care provided in public health care facilities. Its main objectives are to

  • Ensure access to quality health services for all
  • Provide support to achieve universal health coverage (UHC) and Sustainable development goals (SDG)
  • Ensure implementation of global best practices, evidence and policy recommendations viz. use of Standard Treatment Guidelines and Protocols; infection prevention and safety protocols; certification using checklist, assessments, and improvement cycles; continuous training and skill enhancement; implementation of reporting and feedback mechanisms, etc.

  • Assam- Rejuvenation of Lanka PHC
    Kayakalp of Lanka Block PHC in a true sense was a memorable journey for the entire PHC staff; their commendable efforts have brought a drastic change in and outside the PHC. Lanka PHC is the PHC that caters to large number of population. It seems difficult to revamp a 70years old building, it was almost impractical at the initial stage to do Kayakalp in the PHC with high OPD and delivery load per day.
  • Madhya Pradesh- Anti-Microbial Resistance
    Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) is an eminent global threat to mankind. Identifying the nuance of ever increasing AMR, Global Action Plan on Anti-Microbial Resistance (GAP-AMR) was announced by World Health Organisation (WHO) and seconded by its 194 member countries.
  • Leh- Community Health Centre Khaltse
    Khaltse or Khalsi is the head-quarter of eponymous Subdivision, block and tehsil in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located 337 km from Srinagar on the old main road to Leh, where it crossed the Indus over an iron bridge. Much of its importance is because it is the place where the road from Kashmir debouches into the Indus Valley.
  • Haryana- e-upchaar
    e-Upchaar is one of the e-governance initiatives being implemented by State Health Systems Resource Centre Haryanato improvequality of service delivery. The core objective of e-Upchaar is to bring administrative efficiency through a state of the art ICT enabled Hospital Information System by streamlining and digitizing workflows.
  • Haryana- Quality Improvement in PHC
    Assuring quality in healthcare is a challenging endeavor. The inter-linkages and cross-functionalities of multiple stakeholders lead to complexity in deliverance of healthcare to the patients. In public health facilities the provision of basic assured services like prompt treatment by a qualified doctor, laboratory investigations with the right result, basic medicines have become a high end commodity. The simplification of health systems is the need of the hour.
  • Kerala- Kayakalp Award 2016-17
    Taluk Head Quarters Hospital Parassala is the first KASH Accredited Taluk Hospital in thestate. As part of implementing KAYAKALP a new thought come into our mind was introducing Award for best performing departments , three bucket system of cleaning, Display of IEC materials regarding Swachatha and importance of water conservation and workplace management method.
  • Kozhikode- Women & Children Hospital
    Govt. Hospital for Women and Childrenhas a glorious past as a major health care institution of Kozhikode. It is situated at thecentre of Calicut town near to the central bus station. It was Started with the name of Raja Sir RamaswamiMudaliyarWomen’s and Children’s Hospital, Kozhikode as a memory of the reminiscence of the Diamond Jubilee, of her Majesty of (late) Victoria Queen. Acquisition: As per the order of Madras Govt.
  • Meghalaya- The Biowat- An Innovation Under Kayakalp
    Nature has so much to offer us, fresh food,clean air, crystal clear water. We take so much and we must give back what we owe to Mother Nature. That is the inspiration behind the conceptualization of the BIOWAT, which is short for Biomedical Waste Water Treatment. An improvised Liquid Waste Management facility developed at Nartiang PHC, for the treatment and disposal of Biomedical Waste Water
  • Meghalaya- Chokpot CHC
    Chokpot CHC is the major health provider for 158 villages under Chokpot Block.It caters to a population of 26435 and has 5 subcentres. In 2016,Chokpot CHC has started working for Kayakalp, baseline score of facility was quite low due to poor infrastructure, insufficient funds &lack of support from certain section of society.
  • Rajasthan- Labs for Life
    The Labs for Life Project(L4L) is a pilot partnership initiative between Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), BD and Christian Medical Association of India(CMAI). The key objectives are to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of public health laboratories under MOHFW.
